Gerberoy wine

Le Clos Gerberoy, a 100% Picard wine © DR/CRT Picardie/Le Clos Gerberoy / Le Clos Gerberoy, a 100% Picard wine

Gerberoy, one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of France", with its roses and relaxed way of life, has added a new arrow to its already impressive quiver in the form of a delicious Picard wine, Le Clos Gerberoy.

1,612 m² of vineyards, with 900 vinestocks of pinot noir and 100 vinestocks of muscat eating grapes, planted on the west-facing heights overlooking the picturesque village of Gerberoy. A perfect mix for a delicious wine.

The first vintage saw the light of day thanks to Le Clos Gerberoy, an association gathering together volunteers, members and sponsors. These lovers of good wine and of the Picardy region have brought back to life the vineyards donated by Etienne Le Sidaner, grandson of the painter Henri Le Sidaner, who lived in Gerberoy between 1901 and 1939. This wine was first tasted and enjoyed during the 81st Gerberoy Rose Festival.

More on Gerberoy:
Gerberoy is a gem of the Oise department, listed one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of France". You're sure to fall in love with this old medieval village. The 17th- and 18th-century houses, made of brick and flint or of wood and cob, lend this village its unique character. Stroll its old paved alleyways and admire the collegiate church, the ramparts, "Charlemagne's Tower" and the ruins of the old castle transformed into an Italian-style garden by the Impressionist painter Henri Le Sidaner. This artist fell in love with the village, returned there each summer, and decided to plant in Gerberoy numerous rose bushes. Slowly transformed into a "hanging garden", Gerberoy eventually earned the nickname "The Village of a Thousand Rosebushes"!
